Ted Dutch's 'Flying Machine V' is most recognisable by the technical whimsy that pervades the piece, as seen throughout his the entire oeuvre. Dutch surrounds his largely subjects with impossible frameworks, ambiguous machinery, and a general sense of busy-ness. Dutch's ample ability and mastery of screen printing techniques is wholly apparent here in the layers of detailed 'flying machines', each the effort of a separate screen.
