A selection of our gallery artists featuring major works by Ray Haydon - For What it's Worth
15 Sep to 20 Sep 2009

'For What it's Worth' is an exhibition dedicated to exploring questions about the worth of art. We are putting the onus on YOU the collector to determine the value of the art works on display.

Works in 'For What it's Worth' are for sale in a silent auction format – you purchase a work by placing the highest bid for it. Many pieces have no reserve meaning a bid of $50 (the minimum bid) may secure the work! However, you are also bidding against other collectors so make sure your bid is as high as you would be comfortable with.

There are over 30 works with a no reserve status so we encourage you to just give it a go - you never know what you might get at a fraction of it's original price! Included is a fabulous Ray Haydon mahogany piece, usually valued at $6,900, with a no reserve status.

To add to the excitement, all reserves are unpublished and confidential – no one (not even our sales staff) will know the reserves or which pieces do not carry reserves. However, our staff can provide pricing indications based on recommended retail prices and sales history of the artist’s work if you require help to set your bid.

When setting your bid, we also invite you to consider: What does this artist provide to me? How much money do I wish to pay to ensure their practice continues? Your answer will go some way to determining the price you should bid for the work.

We can take phone and email bids as well so do feel free to contact us on 09 374 4476 or info@sanderson.co.nz should you have any questions or would like to make an absentee bid.
