Our Vision
We undertake the work of supporting contemporary artists in their practice, acting to build appreciation of their artworks and projects. Our role is that of an intermediary, developing an ongoing dialogue between our artists and our patrons, allowing each of these vital groups to sustain and challenge the other. This is an inclusive process, one that welcomes and educates, promoting the growth of the art community as a whole.
How the Site Works
Viewing Works
There are two ways to view the range of work within the Sanderson web site.
The first is by selecting the name of the Artist(s) that you are most interested in. To browse this way simply click on the 'Artists' link on the right hand toolbar and choose the Artist's name from our listing.This will bring up the Artist's portfolio available through the Sanderson Gallery.
The second way is to search for artworks that meet your specified criteria. The search page allows searching by size, price, media and artist, as well as by keyword.
Within the galleries and the Artists' portfolios, works are displayed roughly chronological order, with eight artworks shown per page. The artworks are displayed as thumbnail (small) images with brief captions (title, artist, price). You can move back and forward through the pages using the Previous and Next buttons, or you can click on the page number you want.
Taking a closer Look at Art Works
If one of our pieces catches your eye and you have to get a better look, click on the image. This will bring up an enlarged view of the piece, a more detailed caption (media, dimensions, framing, more information, etc), allow you to access a Biography on the artist and to View all Works by the Artist. If seeing the piece ‘up close and personal’ makes you love it more than when you first saw it, Add it to Your Wish List and continue browsing, or enquire about the work.
Your Wishlist
'Your Wish List’ keeps track of works that you have noted as your favourites. You need to be logged in to use this function. If you send a work to Your Wish List, it places it in a special page that you can return to later during your session to view. This means you can continue browsing the site without having to remember the location of every piece you liked.
You can view your wish list by clicking on the Your Wish List button on the toolbar at the right-hand side of the screen. This will bring up pictures and captions for all the pieces within your wish list, so you can compare them (very useful if you are torn between a number of pieces), or just take another look before you order your chosen pieces.
Ordering Procedures
When you have finished browsing the site, you can review the works you liked by clicking 'My Wish List'. To contact us about purchasing a work in your wish list or on the site, simply click on the Enquire About This Piece button so you can et us know if you have any questions or would like to go ahead and purchase the work.
All orders made through our site are subject to our Terms and Conditions. Please make sure you read these carefully when ordering your works as they let you know of your rights and obligations.
