Singers, musicians, dancing figures and jugglers act out the cavalcade of amusing antics in the ‘Performers’ series. Music was a huge part of Ted’s life and tracks playing from his collection of pre-war jazz usually accompanied his art-making. The exuberant colour and frenetic line that has come to characterise his work is never clearer that in these pieces – as vital, fresh and vibrant as the day they were made.
